What do you want to be when you grow up? |
Well fuck, first of all do you really want to grow up? Since age 7, my dream was to kayak all over the world and witness what no one else has seen before, and so I did. Painful part of growing up is to see how fucked up the world actually is, so although adulthood brings consciousness & awareness, I shall stay a little for ever child. Growing up, in the past few years meant stepping a little out of the international kayak scene, so I could build a company to bring people to the places I love, create my own non-profit, study & save rivers, learning botany (no only cannabis, but mostly) and other languages. But for past month and up until the NFC day, I’m training hard so that when I grow up, I can come and kick your ass at the NFC 2018 ! |
What’s your definition of success? |
Not giving a fuck about how society defines success. Happiness is success. Loving life and others , while making sure you do your part to create a more pleasant world for the future generation is also success. Success is making the most out of your lifetime while leaving haters behind. Success is coming to NFC 2018 to catch up with all the fucking awesome friends I haven’t hanged out with in a long time! Voting me in is success as well 😉 |
If you got sponsors, give them a shout! |
Kokatat has always been there for me, they make the best gear out there fo sure. Waka is the shit and love the spirit of the company…More important is to paddle the gear you love, and that keeps you safe. I have no respect for people who deliberately choose to paddle a boat they hate for money 😉 |
Gnarliest thing you’ve ever eaten? |
Legal or illegal? Actually once my brother an I were in the Amazon and there was a preparation ritual for a “Yage” ceremony. The whole tribe was gathered in the Long house called ” Maloka” and there was a small bench in the centre, with a basket on it. Everybody stood up and got a handful of whatever was in the basket. I couldn’t understand anything of what was going on as they all spoke “Barasano”, but I didn’t want to miss out on anything, so I stood up and grabbed a handful of green powder mixed with solid balls. The powder was a well known substance, ” mambe” or coca leaves powder. No idea what was the solid balls, so as I masticated it, I asked the sitting next to me…turned out to be burnt rubber tree sap…Might still have a bit stuck in my teethes a year later, that shit is sticky. |
What are you doing to protect our free flowing rivers? |
Everything I can. I could go on for a long time on that subject, because that’s what my life is entirely dedicated to, however, I’de rather use this space to send a big shout out to all the people around the world who do the same thing. There is nothing more sincere for a kayaker to give a little love back to our rivers. |
